Since 2004, Lupen Crook has been a part of the underground folk scene growing out of London. Lupen joins with brothers Tom and Bob Langridge of the Murderbirds, to bring what the BBC calls "a rag-tag sonic assault" to the stage. Performing on a half-strung 12-string acoustic guitar and backed by a band playing everything from traditional instruments to hub-caps and beer kegs, Lupen Crook and the Murderbirds throw everything they've got at their fans, including the kitchen sink.
In this episode of Rehearsal Space, the band shares stories of how the current line-up came to be, the recording of their second album in an abandoned brothel, and the breakout success taking them from a few guys playing in Chatham, Kent to an international act.

Directors cut of music video for a band called Orba Squara (one of their songs was on the iphone ad). The video was all one steadicam shot with animated/illustrated elements added in using 3D tracking software.

some time back
It was a beautiful video by a visual artist which
- it was beautifully shot and took place in an open landscape
- there were characters sort of picnicking or hanging out
- they all had there faces painted differently, some in 2 or 3 colours with gradient fades in the make up -

See the premier of Joseph Kahn's amazing new video for Ladytron 'Ghosts'. The video was shot on 16mm (correction - not HVX) over a weekend in the desert with a skeleton crew and a haunting treatment that would frighten many record execs. This is by far their best video, I never imagined such a vivid portrayal of the girls would work so well. After another viewing, this one's a classic to be hailed, especially considering the state videos are in. It's also interesting insight into the director Joseph Kahn who is famous for his high profile work with major artists. *He invested the entire budget for the sake of creating the piece. 5/5 stars.
